The power of painting something daily builds up to something big eventually.
I’ve learnt not to be afraid of painting something I’m challenged by. The important point to remember is, to have a strong desire to paint something, a subject ( currently, flowers and blue and white vases, for e.g. in my case) we have an interest in, we really love and inspires us! It’s better to give a chance to paint something one loves, even if it challenges one, rather than painting nothing!
Sometimes, even cutting paper with scissors, or looking at inspiring pictures on the web, is contributing towards building a momentum towards creating something more and interesting in your studio.
Don’t let your perfectionist nature hold you back. Let’s look at it this way.....even if you don’t like the end result, or are bothered by it, the process would have taught you something new about yourself, about the subject itself and expanded your creative skills through trial and error.
I strongly feel and believe that in art and creativity nothing is a mistake! It’s really another valid perspective.
