Artistʼs Statement:

I love painting with watercolours, a master medium with which I first began indulging my love of drawing and painting as a child

My very first exhibition - three decades ago - was illustrations of birds in watercolours. My artistic journey thereafter found me exploring other mediums such as oils, acrylics, mixed media and then - about a decade ago - I returned to my original medium.

Watercolours are magical. Their allure is multi-faceted, but it is the unique responsive spontaneity of the medium with its transparency and freshness that I find most fascinating.

My current exhibition is a tribute to this joyful yet challenging medium that I so enjoy working with. Elements of nature, such as birds, butterflies and animals surface alongside my signature muse of flowers and decorative porcelain. Collectively, they harmonise to create things of beauty. I believe where there is beauty, there is love and joy
